i'm so happy you're here!
Hello, and welcome to my small business.
Artfully Expected Fine Arts was born from two of my greatest passions: photography and horses, and from the memory of one extraordinary horse who changed my life forever. What began as a creative outlet has grown into a way to preserve moments that matter, capturing memories that deserve to be held onto long after they have passed.
The name Artfully Expected is a tribute to my heart horse, Not What I Expected, known to me as Sully. His name came from his pedigree, with his grandsire being Artful Move and his sire Just Expect It, but to me, he became so much more than a name on paper. I had the privilege of calling Sully mine for eight and a half of his ten years, and during that time he taught me patience, resilience, and the value of truly appreciating each moment.
Sully was there for many of my most meaningful milestones, including fulfilling dreams I had worked toward for years. His sudden passing in February 2025 was devastating and changed my perspective on how fleeting time can be. Photography became a way to hold onto what cannot be recreated, to preserve memories with intention and care. Every image I create is influenced by that understanding and by the reminder that moments are never guaranteed, but memories can be preserved.
Artfully Expected Fine Arts exists to honor those moments. Whether through fine art portraits or photographs taken in motion, my work is driven by the belief that every experience is worth remembering. This business is not just about photography, but about preserving stories, celebrating connection, and creating images that stand the test of time.
Who I am
I am a self taught photographer with a focus on fine art black background imagery and horse show photography. My work is rooted in capturing moments in motion and preserving them as lasting memories, whether in a carefully crafted portrait or a split second performance in the show pen.
Through years of hands on experience, I have developed a style that emphasizes detail, timing, and intention. In my fine art work, I use black background editing to remove distractions and allow form, expression, and presence to take center stage. In the show ring, I focus on precision and storytelling, capturing images that reflect both the athleticism of the moment and the emotion behind it.
Every photograph I create is edited with care and purpose. My goal is to deliver images that feel timeless, honest, and worthy of being displayed. These are not just photos, but preserved memories designed to last long after the moment has passed.
Every session and every image is approached with intention, care, and respect for the moment being captured. My goal is simple. To create photographs that preserve memories, honor the experience, and stand the test of time.
